FFP Trade Show Tour! 

This past month our team has been incredibly busy traveling to various trade shows to not only continue to learn best practice in the industry but to also contribute to the industry presenting on aspects of the business that we are finding success in.


Aqualand in Chicago

One of the first stops for the FFP Team was to Aqualand in Chicago. Aqualand is Aquascape Inc.’s primary work location where they bring the outdoors in and water features surround both the indoors and outdoors of the property. Tim Bock, FFP’s Pond Construction Manager, and AJ Mandell, Director of Marketing and Koi Sales, needed to deliver koi that had come in on a recent shipment to Aquascape. The guys from Aquascape were thrilled with their fish purchased while in Japan and very happy to add them to their pondscape on the property. 

While they were there, they attended the Aquascape Academy where they learned more about the pond industry as a business, the installation process of ecosystem ponds as well as attending seminars and classes on business, marketing and sales in regards to the pond industry. At Fitz’s Fish Ponds, we pride ourselves on what we do and how we operate and we value continuing our own education to stay current with best practices in the field. 

Water Garden Expo in Oklahoma 

Tim and AJ then flew to Oklahoma City where they met up with Don Schnoor, National Sales Manager for Evolution Aqua, and Brian Fitz, CEO of Fitz’s Fish Ponds, at the Water Garden Expo. This tradeshow is always a great way for us to network and get to know other people in the industry from all over the US. At this event Don and brian set up a booth featuring our Evolution Aqua Division. Don also presented a course on Evolution Aqua filtration and educated many others on its many benefits.

Brian Fitz presented an in depth course on the Japanese koi buying experience. In his presentation he discussed the different koi trips the team goes on and the purpose of each. A large portion of his presentation focused around incorporating koi sales as a complement to building and installing ponds. This is an additional way pond companies can help their customers fill their pond with koi that they can care for and enjoy. 

Garden State Koi’s Event in Crystal Springs, NJ

Garden State Koi and Pond Tent put on a business Master Class for the pond industry. Brian was invited to be a presenter and taught another course on incorporating koi sales into the pond business. He was accompanied by AJ who was able to network and build relationships with others in the industry. 

It was a busy month for us at Fitz’s Fish Ponds. We learned a lot and we can’t wait to bring all that we have learned and taught others into your backyards! We pride ourselves on being experts in all aspects of the industry and we are dedicated to continue learning and growing to ensure it stays that way!
